On Sunday 9th June, So Last Century returns to Beckenham Place Mansion, a beautiful, unrestored, Georgian mansion house set in stunning parkland in south-east London.

On the day there’ll be a stunning, hand picked selection of 25+ top-quality vintage traders, in the Atrium, Drawing Room, Dining Room and outside. You can expect to find mid-century decor, lighting, homeware and furnishings, prints, antique maps and etchings, brocante, clothing, accessories, jewellery, and much more.

There’ll be street food outside plus excellent coffee by Beats & Grind, delicious brownies by Slate ‘n’ Crumb and ice cream served up by Ice Creams Most Wanted. The Mansion Cafe and wonderful new Basement Bar will also be open.

At lunchtime you can sit back and enjoy live music by brilliant Lewisham band The Bleedin’ Liberties.

The resident artists will be opening their studios up on the first floor where you can see their amazing work, some of which will be available to buy. Several of the artists’ studios on the the lower ground floor may be open, too.

Don’t forget to check out Know How You Sewing School on the ground floor, where they’ll be holding an Open Studio and Sewing Surgery. On the lower ground floor you can discover the cavernous Cigarette Records shop.  Owain will help you find what you’re looking for amongst the thousands of records he has in stock, and may introduce you to something you’ve never heard before!

And finally, not to be missed, is the fascinating Visitor Centre run by The Friends of Beckenham Place Park. Crammed with artefacts, maps, and documents, you can find out about the rich history of the Park.

So come along on this early summer Sunday and find lots of vintage treasures, explore the mansion and enjoy the beautiful park while you’re there!

Ravensbourne Station – 15mins

By bus:
Bus – 54, 354, 320, 227, 367, 181

By car:
The car park in front of the Mansion is now permanently closed. Until the new car park opens in July there are fewer spaces to park (about half of the total previously) and these will be along the northern part of the Drive approaching the Mansion.

We strongly recommend using public transport and/or walking to the event wherever possible, as the single carriageway access road to the Mansion will be much more congested than usual, particularly around midday. If you do prefer to arrive by car, we suggest you avoid the busiest period between 11am and 2pm. Note that vehicle entry is only via the Beckenham Hill Road entrance, opposite the Annunciation and St Augustine Church (Sat Nav: BR3 1SY).

Free on-street parking is available near to the Downham entrance on Old Bromley Road (Sat Nav: BR1 4LE), or on Crab Hill by Ravensbourne Station, (Sat Nav: BR3 5HE), from where the Mansion is an enjoyable 15 minute stroll across the Park.

The nearest cashpoint is at Waitrose near Beckenham Junction Station, a 15 minute walk away, so make sure you bring plenty of cash. Although many of our traders take cards these days, not all of them do.
